Turkey Corn Chowder Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Onion - chopped (large) |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Oil |
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Fresh ground turkey |
1 | Whole kernel corn | |
1 | Potato - peeled and diced (large) | |
1 | Tomatoes | |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Pepper |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Sugar |
3 cups | 711ml | Boiling water |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Canned evaporated milk |
Saute onion in oil in a large kettle until transparent. Push to one side.
Add ground turkey and cook, stirring, until lightly browned. Add remaining ingredients, except canned milk. Stir well. Cover. Bring just to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Just before serving, remove from heat and slowly stir in canned milk.
