Shredded Chicken Sesame

This dish can be served as a salad course with a garnish of lettuce or served on crackers as an appetizer. Be careful or your guests will fill up on this dish before the main courses are served.

Recipe Ingredients

3 lbs 1362g / 48ozChicken
  Sesame Garlic Dressing
1 teaspoon 5mlSugar
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlMsg - optional
2 tablespoons 30mlLight soy sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons 37mlSesame paste - see * note
1 tablespoon 15mlSesame oil
1 tablespoon 15mlChinese red vinegar
  (or cider vinegar)
1 tablespoon 15mlChopped green onion
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlGrated fresh ginger
2   Garlic cloves - crushed
1/4 tablespoon 3.8mlChinese hot pepper oil - or to taste

Recipe Instructions

* Note: Available in Chinese or Oriental markets.

One chicken, about 2 3/4 to 3 pounds, lightly boiled, skin removed and discarded, boned and shredded. Use the bones and skin for a later soup stock. Place the shredded chicken in a bowl. Mix the remaining ingredients together to form a salad dressing. Toss with the chicken and arrange on a platter. Garnish with more chopped green onion, if desired. This recipe serves 6 to 8.
