Sesame Wings Recipe - Cooking Index
5 lbs | 2270g / 80oz | Chicken wings |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Soy sauce |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Corn oil |
1/2 cup | 55g / 1.9oz | Sesame seeds |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | White wine - or sherry |
2 | Garlic - peeled and halved | |
1 | Onion - chopped (medium) | |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Brown sugar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Accent - (optional) |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Red chili pepper - * see note |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Powdered ginger |
* or 3, 5, or 8 dried chili pods, depending on how hot you like your wings.
In blender container, place soy sauce, corn oil, sesame seeds, wine, garlic, onion, brown sugar, Ac'cent, chili pepper and ginger. Cover and blend until liquefied.
Pour marinade over wings in a shallow dish and marinate for several hours or overnight, mixing occasionally. Then place wings in a single layer in a large, shallow baking pan (or two, if needed).
Bake, uncovered, in 350F oven, basting occasionally, for 45 minutes to one hour. (Wonderful!)
