Basic Teriyaki Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 237ml | Soy sauce |
1 cup | 237ml | Sake |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Mirin |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Fresh ginger - grated |
Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan. Heat on stove until the brown sugar is dissolved and all the ingredients are thoroughly blended Use this as a marinade or for basting.
Try to use brown sugar, if possible; the molasses adds a certain texture and quality.
Makes 2-1/2 cups
