Piquant Chicken Recipe - Cooking Index
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Fresh ginger - coarsely grate |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Fresh basil - chopped -or- |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Dried basil |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Dry red wine |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Soy sauce |
1 | Garlic - minced (or 1/2 ts | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Brown sugar |
4 | Boneless skinless chicken breasts | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
Combine ginger, basil, wine, soy sauce, garlic, and brown sugar. Heat oil in large skillet;saute chicken on both side until golden brown, about 8 minutes total.
Spoon ginger mixture over chicken, reduce heat to simmer, and cover skillet. Cook about 4 minutes longer, turning once.
