2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cumin seed or 1/4 tsp. Ground cumin |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Ground turmeric |
1 | Jalapeno chilies - seeded and chopped | |
3 cups | 438g / 15oz | Cauliflowerets - (1 pound) |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Chicken or vegetable broth |
2 cups | 474ml | Cooked yellow split peas |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Frozen - (thawed) green peas |
1 | -can black beans - rinsed and drained |
Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook cumin, turmeric and chilies in oil 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir cauliflowerets and broth. Cover and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until cauliflowerets are tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook about 5 minutes, stir occasionally, until hot.
