Indian Split Peas With Vegetables

Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons 30mlVegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCumin seed or 1/4 tsp. Ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlGround turmeric
1   Jalapeno chilies - seeded and chopped
3 cups 438g / 15ozCauliflowerets - (1 pound)
1/4 cup 59mlChicken or vegetable broth
2 cups 474mlCooked yellow split peas
1 1/2 cups 355mlFrozen - (thawed) green peas
1   -can black beans - rinsed and drained

Recipe Instructions

Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook cumin, turmeric and chilies in oil 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir cauliflowerets and broth. Cover and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until cauliflowerets are tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook about 5 minutes, stir occasionally, until hot.
