Avocado & Orange Salad With Walnuts Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Walnuts - chopped |
1 cup | 237ml | Sweet orange - sectioned (small) |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Firm ripe avocado - diced (medium) |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Turnip - diced |
Red leaf lettuce - torn, - as needed | ||
Dressing | ||
1 1/2 tablespoons | 22ml | Walnut oil -=or=- Peanut oil |
Peanut oil | ||
1/2 tablespoon | 7.5ml | Lemon juice -=or=- Lime juice - to taste |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Mint |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Honey |
Black pepper - to taste |
Toast walnuts on a hot, dry skillet, stirring frequently, until they are fragrant. About 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat & let cool.
Combine salad ingredients in a serving bowl & toss with the walnuts. In a small bowl, stir together the dressing ingredients. Pour over the salad & toss to coat. Serve at once.
