Twiglets in our A-Z - Cooking Index
Twiglets are a snack popular in Britain and Australia. They are baked biscuit shaped like small twigs and covered with Marmite.
Like Marmite they tend to evoke either love or hatred amongst consumers.
They were invented in the 1920s by Monsieur Rondalin, a French technical manager who worked for Peak Freans, a biscuit manufacturer. They were launched in 1929 and swiftly became part of the British culinary landscape.
Twiglets are now produced by Jacob's Biscuits, part of the United Biscuits food conglomerate which bought the business in September 2004.
In January 2006 Jacob's stopped producing a Worcester sauce flavored version of Twiglets.
