Recipe Ingredients

2 cups 474mlOatmeal
2 cups 474mlCracked wheat
2 cups 474mlUnsweetened grape juice
2 lbs 908g / 32ozSeedless raisins - chopped fine
2 lbs 908g / 32ozSeeded raisins - chopped fine
2 lbs 908g / 32ozDates - pitted - chopped fine
2 lbs 908g / 32ozWalnuts - coarsely chopped
  Rind of 3 oranges - grated
  Rind of 3 lemons - grated
1 cup 237mlHoney
6 tablespoons 90mlOil
1 tablespoon 15mlGround cinnamon
1 tablespoon 15mlGround nutmeg
1 tablespoon 15mlGround allspice
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlGround cloves

Recipe Instructions

Mix together oatmeal, cracked wheat and grape juice. Let stand overnight. Add remaining ingredients. Blend thoroughly by hand.

Line loaf pans with heavy waxed paper, brush with oil. Pack mixture down into loaf pans, a little at a time. Put heavy weight on top and let stand at least 24 hours. Slice thin to serve.

Makes 2 fruitcakes.

Note: Recipe did not specify size of loaf pans.
