Consumer Reports Chili

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb 454g / 16ozBeef - ground or turkey
1   Garlic - minced
1   Onion - finely chopped (large)
1   Green pepper - finely (medium)
  ( about 2/3 cup)
4 tablespoons 60mlChili powder
1 tablespoon 15mlCider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlAllspice
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlCoriander
1 teaspoon 5mlCumin
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt - or to taste
1/2 cup 118mlWater
1   Canned crushed - tomatoes (16 oz)
1   -- ¥
1   Red kidney beans - with liquid.
1/4 cup 15g / 0.5ozCorn - frozen or leftover, or
  Canned
  Meatless Version
  Omit meat and substitute
1 tablespoon 15mlOil
1   Garbanzo beans - undrained
1   Pinto beans - undrained

Recipe Instructions

Cook beef, garlic, onion and green pepper in a heavy Skillet over medium high heat, stirring frequently to break up meat. Cook until onion is soft and meat has last its pink color. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat.

Simmer the chili for 45 mins, stirring frequently.
