Apricot Almond Bars Recipe - Cooking Index
|1 1/2 cups||93g / 3.3oz||Flour|
|1/2 cup||99g / 3.5oz||Butter or margarine - softened|
|1/4 cup||49g / 1.7oz||Shortening|
|1||Egg - lightly beaten|
|1/2 cup||99g / 3.5oz||Sugar|
|1/2 cup||118ml||Apricot preserves|
|1 tablespoon||15ml||Butter or margarine - softened|
|1 cup||93g / 3.3oz||Sliced almonds|
In a mixing bowl, beat flour, sugar, butter and shortening. Pat into bottom and 1/2" up the sides of an ungreased 13x9x2" baking pan.
Bake at 350F for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned. For topping, beat egg, sugar, preserve, butter and vanilla in a mixing bowl until smooth. Spread over hot crust. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 350F. for 15-20 minutes. Cool.
